Enabling Self-Love: A toolkit for change
In Collaboration with Fetzer Institute USA and Designing for Love UK
I was a part of a team of 20 global designers who were working to build prototypes of change as a part of a funding initiative between Fetzer Institute, USA and Designing for Love charity, UK. I partnered with Don Bosch Guwahati’s (Child Friendly Guwahati initiative). This is a first of its kind pilot in India, that aims to reintegrate vulnerable children back into society and make cities child friendly. It is now being scaled to 10 more cities in the nation. I led participatory user-research, co-design and testing of behaviour change interventions within vulnerable communities that can increase self awareness and compassion levels amongst children to address the problem of high rates of drop-outs from schools. The portfolio of interventions were aimed at behaviour change amongst multiple actors in children’s ecosystem. Gap analysis of the current support-programs led to strategies that enablefullfilment of institute’s vision to enable basic rights for all children. The project was presented at Designing for Love event in London in May and London design festival in September 2024. It is set to be presented at the national board soon.
